We all know that sweating is a normal phenomenon for our bodies and a necessary process so that the body can cool itself and counteract an excessive rise in body temperature due to heat, physical exertions or even moments of stress.

There is a limit, however, beyond which sweating becomes anomalous and is therefore referred to as hyperhidrosis.

Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized precisely by excessive sweating of our body due to an incorrect response of the thermoregulatory and emotional stimulus.

It can affect different parts of the body such as hands, feet and armpits, but not only.

This condition can also occur in the head, which is why it is called facial-cranial hyperhidrosis.

Excessive head sweating, how to recognize it

Generally, there can be so many causes of excessive head sweating, which is why it is not always easy to trace it back to its source.

We speak of primary hyperhidrosis in cases where excessive sweating is due to a hereditary factor; we define instead, secondary hyperhidrosis when excessive sweating is generated by something else.

Of the causes of secondary hyperhidrosis we can name:

  • Diabetes
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Hyperthyroidism and endocrine disruption
  • Obesity
  • Menopause
  • Medical Therapies
  • Serious bacterial infections and so on.

There is also nighttime hyperhidrosis, which occurs mainly in menopausal women, the main cause of craniofacial hyperhidrosis in women, as a side effect related to hot flashes and night sweats.

Remedies for excessive scalp sweating

Hyperhidrosis is a condition that requires the intervention of a physician and the prescription of therapeutic treatment based on drugs and antiperspirant creams in order to solve the problem.

The level and type of hyperhidrosis to be treated must be recognized in order to be able to define the most suitable therapy for a person;

frequent washing of skin and hair, using mild products is very important and serves first and foremost to rebalance the hydrolipidic film of the scalp, but also to avoid bad odors, itchiness, irritation etc.

The Sanders Helvetic Institute has put in place Physio-Complex treatments, which have the function of counteracting various scalp issues, such as in this case excessive sweating.

These treatments achieve their goals through the use of components such as Caffeine, Zinc, Panthenol and Serenoa Repens, to potentiate shock therapies.”
